Welcome to our School Improvement Board
Over the next 12 months we will be looking to recruit a number of community School Improvement Board members to challenge and support North Worcester Primary Academy as we move towards opening date and beyond as we strive to deliver an outstanding education for our children.
The role of the School Improvement Board is to monitor and evaluate the school and provide a blend of challenge, encouragement and support to ensure that the children have the best education and opportunities available.
I have been involved in education all my life and have recently retired as an assistant head at a successful local secondary school. During my time at that school, I had first-hand experience in all aspects of leading a large school, but my main skills were in the pastoral dimension. I gained an MSc in Educational Leadership in 2008 and am keen to continue to utilize this knowledge in supporting a different educational phase by applying my skills and experience to North Worcester Primary Academy and the youngest members of our community.
My retirement will not only give me time to commit to my role at NWPA but also to work within the University of Worcester on the Secondary Science teaching course. I am also looking forward to spending more time with my grandchildren as well as to travelling extensively. I look forward to working with all members and partners of NWPA throughout the coming years.

I have worked for Bosch Thermotechnology for over 15 years in a variety of finance roles across different countries and with managerial responsibility for the last 10 years. I moved to Worcester 8 years ago and since July 2018 am Director of Controlling, Finance and Accounting. Prior to working for Bosch, I completed a degree in European Business Administration studying in Germany and Spain.
In my role as a leader, I enjoy growing talent and I am passionate about continuous and life-long learning, development and coaching.
I have a young daughter so education is a topic very close to my heart and I believe a good education is a key requisite for future success.
I look forward to bringing in my experience from the business world, building links to the local community and being part of this exciting journey.

I have been a Biology and ICT teacher for over 25 years. I am currently an Assistant Head teacher in a successful Worcester secondary school, having been in post for 10 years. I have specific responsibilities for school improvement, data, timetabling and whole school ICT provision. I am also the school’s DPO.
I am looking forward to working within a new phase of education and using my skills and experience to enhance and enrich the education of younger students.

Having taught in local secondary schools for over a decade, I transitioned into teacher education at the University of Worcester. I co-lead the Secondary Science PGCE and encourage the delivery of practical science teaching.
In addition, I work for The Ogden Trust, a charity that promotes Physics education. As part of this role, I have developed a successful partnership in Worcester and have worked closely with primary schools to develop teachers’ confidence and ability to deliver an engaging science curriculum which promotes scientific enquiry skills with their students.
I am looking forward to helping to develop a much-needed new primary school which will serve the heart of the community.

I am a senior leader in a primary school in Birmingham and currently am studying for a Masters degree in Education, with a particular focus on Inclusion and challenging behaviour.
I have 10 years’ experience of Special Educational Needs, Safeguarding and school improvement but, like many parents at NWPA, first and foremost, I'm a mum - a first time mum, with my child in this wonderful, brand new school!
I would like to think I'd bring a balance of understanding both educational and parental perspectives to the School Improvement Board, whilst maintaining common sense and appropriate challenge.
